Live Music in Marshfield, MA: Where to Hear It, and When
Marshfield punches above its weight after dark. A town of beach villages runs a real music circuit — an outdoor stage behind a surf shop, a brewery that posts its lineup every Monday, pubs with standing weekly nights — and the ring of towns around it adds a listening room in a former church, a 21+ rock club in Pembroke, and national acts under a tent in Cohasset. This is the list we give our guests, with the one thing most lists leave out: when each place actually hosts music. Every schedule below comes from the venue's own site, calendar, or pages, checked in October 2026 — if a venue wouldn't tell us when, it isn't on this list. It is one chapter of our Marshfield Local's Guide.

When: free live music daily in season — the venue runs May through December, with acoustic après-beach sets most days — plus 25 or more ticketed headline shows a year, typically in the evening. Daily sets are free; headline shows are ticketed and some are 18+. About 10 minutes from the house.
The Jetty — Brant Rock

Venus II — Brant Rock
The oceanfront sports bar on Ocean Street, already famous in our restaurant guide for bar pizza and the two-story deck. About 8 minutes from the house.
Mamma Mia's — Careswell Street
The recently renovated Italian family restaurant on Careswell Street, built around a 360-degree granite bar and lounge — a locals' night out as much as a dinner. When: live music Friday through Sunday, per the restaurant's own events page — Friday and Saturday 7–10pm, Sundays 3–6pm (Singo on Tuesdays and trivia on Wednesdays fill out the entertainment week). Year-round, about 10 minutes from the house.

Good to Know Before You Go
- Schedules breathe with the seasons. Summer is the peak — outdoor stages, bandstands, and beer gardens all run — but the year-round spine (The Jetty, The Voyage, Stellwagen, Untold, Soundcheck, the Spire) keeps every month covered. A few favorites are seasonal only: ONe 3 Nine closes for winter, and Levitate Backyard runs May to December.
- Check the venue's own page the week of. Bars and breweries post lineups weekly — Stellwagen posts its whole week every Monday — and weather moves outdoor sets. Every name above links to the venue.
- Covers and tickets vary. Most bar and taproom sets are free; headline and listening-room shows (Levitate's ticketed nights, Soundcheck, the Spire, the Music Circus, the Cave) sell tickets, and Soundcheck is 21+.
- The free music is genuinely good. Levitate Backyard's daily sets, the Satuit Band's Friday concerts, PorchFest, and the bandstand series cost nothing — a Marshfield week can have music most nights without a single ticket. Our summer events guide covers the festivals in more depth.
